Capri is Hannah’s oldest dog and first dog she had as an adult. She was found on the side of the road at 3 weeks old. Hannah decided to keep her as a sophomore in college with no extra time or money… that was the best decision Hannah ever made. Hannah’s parents would beg to differ.

She was named after the Isle of Capri in Italy, the most beautiful place Hannah had ever seen. Her middle name is Sun.

Capri has moved seven times with Hannah, been a biking, running, and boating partner, backpacked through the Appalachian Mountains, and her crowning achievement- served as the best foster mother and friend to all the dogs Hannah has brought in over the years. She also saved the life of Rick Mast’s, former NASCAR driver, dog from drowning in a river, but that’s a story for another day…

At 15, Capri has slowed down and now enjoys the occasional steak dinner and a ride through the neighborhood in her chariot wagon.

Positive and Realistic

Every Day Dogs offers positive reinforcement, science-based training. We use tools such as front-clip harnesses and longlines. We believe the learning experience should be fun and safe for all, dogs and humans alike.

Head Trainer, Hannah held her CPDT-KA from 2020-2023 and is now working towards her CBCC-KA (Certified Behavior Consultant Canine- Knowledge Assessed). She knows the importance of staying up-to-date with the science regarding behavior and training and regularly participates in continuing education (she would do this any way, as a dog behavior nerd, even if it wasn’t required!)

Hannah’s training plan starts with making sure all your dog’s needs are met including medical, nutrition, exercise, and safety. We then focus on prevention and management, followed by positive reinforcement of new and useful skills.

Hannah has researched human behavior just as much as canine! It is important to her to bring an empathetic and non-judgmental viewpoint to the human side of the relationship. If you think you have made a mistake with your dog, Hannah can guarantee she has been there, done that!

Hannah has experience and enjoys working with clients with ADHD, autism, physical disabilities, and more. She also particularly enjoys training with human children.

Living with dozens of different dog personalities through fostering has instilled her with a unique perspective of sharing a life with just about every dog dynamic imaginable. Working in shelters and training the dogs there, allowed her invaluable access to hundreds of dogs with all different backgrounds. Hannah believes those experiences have been the most important things to shape her training style.

Finding solutions that fit your home and your lifestyle are just as important to Hannah as they are to you. She knows the struggle of seeing and hearing a million different opinions on what you “should” be doing with your dog and she is there to help you find the right things for you and your dog- and most importantly, feel confident and at ease about them!
